About

The What’s Left group sprang from a desire for informed political conversation. We meet regularly in an informal environment free from the objectives of any party or organisation. We also continue discussion on the

Whats-left.com forum.

In our convivial discussions of current affairs we may explore radical forms of economic and social organisation which contribute to a more equal and fulfilled society. Or we may simply share our frustrations and hopes about the turn of political events and question the media’s representation of them.

We live in the Hope Valley, a rural location in The Peak District of Derbyshire, England, which includes the villages of Castleton, Hope, Edale, Bamford, Bradwell, Brough, Hathersage, Calver, Eyam, Grindleford and Stoney Middleton. Over 94 per cent of the population of about 4000 were born in England. It straddles the two parliamentary constituencies of Derbyshire Dales and High Peak both of which returned conservative Members of Parliament in 2015.

In What’s Left, we entertain radically different views.
